The Transference – “Event Horizon”

Chicago-based band The Transference conjure a melodic rock and power-pop sound on “Event Horizon,” propelled by the memorable songwriting and vibrant vocals of Laura Hollingsworth. “We were born in the Holocene,” the vocals let out amidst playful guitar tones. “I’m so lonely, all I see is black,” twinkling guitars combine with multiple vocal layers, exciting with a replay-inducing appeal. The overall aesthetic reminds fondly of Metric, fusing hooky momentum with a spirited vocal infectiousness. “Event Horizon” is a catchy success from The Transference.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.
