We first caught onto Sunbather in 2018 with the track “Old Soul,” and “Midnight Sun” continues to showcase the artist’s lushly melodic songwriting and atmospheric production. “This song is about finding the person in your life that illuminates your world all day and all night long, just like the midnight sun,” Sunbather explains.

The Chapel Hill, NC-based artist builds a climactic glow throughout — beginning with a journey’s undertaking in “swimming out to the edge of the horizon,” as spacey synth calmness and hazy guitar tones intertwine. “The first light of a new day,” prompts the beginning of a hopeful escalation, aptly, into the soaring vocals and synth-y flashes within the title-touting hook. “Midnight Sun” is a memorable showcase in soundscape and dreamy melodic appeal from Sunbather.
