Kid Tigrrr – “Scry”

A beautifully dazed, hypnotic sound consumes on “Scry,” the second single from Kid Tigrrr‘s upcoming debut album, Stoned and Animald. The solo project of singer/songwriter and painter/visual artist Jenna Fournier fully immerses in its atmospheric intrigue, melding dream-pop and subdued rock mystique for a sound reminiscent of Julee Cruise.

“Clear out all the haze,” Fournier’s calming vocals open alongside lush guitars; caressing acoustics and twangy affections intertwine for a layered serenity. The meditative guitar work reminds fondly of Wild Nothing, while Fournier’s vocal presence and occasional wordless effects guide further into the blissful soundscape. “Scry” is a gorgeously dreamy stunner from Kid Tigrrr, whose upcoming album we’re now firmly anticipating.

Fournier is also known for fronting the project NIIGHTS, which touts three studio releases and four international tours to Japan.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

The track is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Dream-Pop.
