A climactic rock hold is evident on “Funny Days,” the latest track from Giack Bazz. The London-based project of Federico Giacobazzi is preparing to release a new album, Bedtime Stories For Computers, in July. Two complete bands feature on the release, including trombones, violins, and flutes from the “Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna.” If the high quality of “Funny Days” is any indication, the album is certainly one to anticipate.

“I took my car, and I drove all night,” an apt vocal setting compels alongside a rainy-day acoustic guitar presence to start “Funny Days.” The desire to “do something with my life,” arises prior the entry of twangy guitars and steady percussion, with the multi-layered vocal effect continuing with enduring appeal throughout. An erupting guitar heightening captivates past the mid-point, following an accelerated dose of vocal emotion; the dynamic between creaky, subdued vocals and amped-up charisma remind fondly of heyday Modest Mouse. “Funny Days” presents a stirring rock production from Giack Bazz.
