A dynamic rocker from Conflict Choir, “The Real Thing” impresses with its rangy of subdued contemplation and reverberating rock intensity. The releases comes ahead of the Birmingham, UK-based act’s upcoming debut album, Strange Game. A music video is also set to be released for “The Real Thing,” which per the band features “abstract visuals from art installations from London’s Canary Wharf as well as dystopian imagery and visual narratives about the humanity’s struggle for meaning with the current technological evolution.”

A flurry of guitar trickling eases into gentle vocals, asking “do our reflections lie?” with a contemplative lushness. Lyrical conveying of life passing one by, and fearing what’s being missed, escalates into a rousing rock form during the title-referencing chorus. The palpable yearning for “the real thing,” is resonating, particularly as the ascending vocals, thunderous guitars, and dexterous percussion flow seamlessly into a spacey serenity past the two-minute turn; the conclusion brings forth an electrified rock charisma to close it out with satiating impact. “The Real Thing” is a resonating success from Conflict Choir.
