Fallen Letters – “Our Own Demise”

“Our Own Demise” is the latest single from Fallen Letters, the India-based band that first caught our ears last year with the track “Remain A Memory.” “Our Own Demise” succeeds with a more introspective, patiently unfolding appeal, representing the fourth track from their debut EP. Vishal Naidu (vocals, guitars, bass, keys) and Aditya Ramesh (guitars, bass, backing vocals) led a riveting sound and atmospheric production on this standout track.

Somber, wintry piano reflections lead a spacious soundscape to start, quickly complemented by brisk acoustics and steady percussion. “Looking into the sky,” contemplative vocals stir as twangy guitars enter, thematically referring to a sense of renewal — with tides washing the past away — as an ardent chorus arrives. “Demise, I fall for you,” the vocals lament in this emotive sequence, punctuated by a chilling bridge with piano, acoustics, and somber strings. “Our Own Demise” is a memorable, impassioned single from the project, which continues to impress with its no-frills, emotive songwriting.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
