Clamber – ‘Places I Caught Myself Thinking’ EP

London-based act Clamber unveil a catchy, jangly pop charm throughout their new EP, Places I Caught Myself Thinking. Its themes stir in capturing the “restlessness, uneasiness, and joyousness,” as one navigates their 20s — where relationship complexities and self-questioning tend to run rampant.

“Italy” opens the EP with a breezy, inviting allure — meshing a jangly guitar undercurrent with Radiant Vocals, as if The Smiths found solace basking in the Mediterranean sun. “Tooting Tango” also enamors with a lush rock/pop enamoring, representing a crossroads within a relationship and asking if it’s over. A reference to “planning trips to Italy,” maintains a consistent thematic allure, representing a sense of escapism as one copes with crossroads.

The mellow entrancement of “Coldharbour Lane” lends a hypnotic glow through its first couple minutes, then arising into a trickling guitar momentum with radiant vocals reminiscent of Last Dinosaurs. The concluding “Watch Out! (Because They’ll Come to Trip You up Again)” impresses in its range from quainter guitar workings and anthemic “second guessing,” alt-rock expanses, closing this addictive and melodic EP in aptly dynamic form.

“Italy is also featured in the genre-based, best-of Spotify compilation Emerging Indie Pop.
