Another stirring success from Eli Waltz, “Tibetan Bones” finds the D.C.-based artist traversing across a gripping and eclectic soundscape — full of scorching passion. Per Waltz, the track “is written in Mandarin and English, inspired by an out-of-body experience I had in a very old graveyard in Tibet.”

“Tibetan Bones” builds up with compelling fervency. Bluesy harmonica and solemn acoustics complement a haunting vocal composure to start, as glimpses of strings precede into the “watch you glimmer, watch you die,” expansion. Here, Waltz’ ascending vocal passion converges with the throwback bass feeling and Gothic-set strings for a wholly riveting result. The dueling fiddle and harmonica envelop thereafter, as impassioned vocal bursts relay walking through the great unknown.
