What if Eddie Van Halen played on We’re Stars by Hear ‘n aid?

What if Eddie Van Halen played on We’re Stars by Hear ‘n aid?

Hey all, back again, this time digging way back into the 80s with the solo to We’re Stars by the throw together group Hear ‘n aid.

This song was a collaboration first thought up by then Dio guitarist Vivian Campbell.  Campbell was taking a cue from the pop artists that were coming together for charity to aid Africa through donating royalties for tracks like “We Are The World” and “Do They Know It’s Christmas” and”Tears Are Not Enough.”  He decided heavy metal needed it’s ode for charity and created Hear ‘n aid.

This song featured many of the top guitarists of the 80s, George Lynch from Dokken, Yngwie Malmsteen, Neal Schon from Journey along with many others.

One notable absence was the talents of one, Edward Van Halen who did not appear on the track.

I figured it might be fun to fantasize what Eddie might have played on that track and threw this little ode together.

The tab and video are below.

Enjoy!
