#30thAnniversary – Dr. Dre “The Chronic”

What more can be said about this absolute classic that hasn’t been said before? Not much, so let’s state the obvious, again. “The Chronic” changed the landscape of Hip Hop and music in general and influenced a lot of future releases for the years to come with the G-Funk sound. Even if Dr. Dre never claimed to be a lyricist, he is at his best on this LP.  However it is the introduction of an array of future legendary emcees that really catch the ears like Daz & Kurupt aka Tha Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Lady of Rage, RBX and Warren G, but the one who steals the show is without a doubt Snoop Doggy Dogg. With his smooth flow and undeniable charisma, Snoop ended up being one of the biggest artists and entertainers Hip Hop has ever seen. This was the first album released on Death Row Records, an imprint started by Dre himself after leaving N.W.A., with partners The D.O.C., Suge Knight, and Dick Griffey, it goes down in history as one of the most successful record label ever, with millions of LP sold in only a couple of years.

Instead of going on further in what has already been written multiple times, what we did here is compile everything we could find related to “The Chronic” from that era. So what you have below other than the album is five music videos, a lot of remixes and extended versions taken from some twelve inches as well as tons of live performances, interviews and more! Hope you enjoy it!
