Album: “Painting With Dreams” by Tritonal

“Painting With Dreams” begins to the sounds of a synthesized keyboard, pounding out a harmonic, instrumental rhythm, and never looks back. The opening song is called “Tela Vuota,” and it immediately sets the album’s tone. Listeners understand that Tritonal is reinventing their sound. Although it may not be entirely different, “Painting With Dreams” is a much more ambitious piece work than their previous releases. Compare the instrumental-focused tracks to releases such as “Anchor,” “Until You Were Gone,” or “Untouchable,” and fans are able to hear a distinct difference. The same big house sound remains, but mixed into the attractive bass is a harmony of drums, keyboards, and synthesizers unheard of from the duo. The album then, is a combination of festival styled tracks, with an instrumental twist fans will immediately love.

There are the hits that have already grown on us – “Blackout,” “This Is Love,” and “Getaway” – but it is the new material which stands out to create a comprehensive album. “Broken,” hosting the vocals of Adam Lambert, utilizes his rock-inspired voice to create a combination between the two genres, while R5 and Ross Lynch – the star of Disney Channel television series Austin & Ally – play along with the duo in “I Feel The Love.” There are times where it escapes your mind that this is an electronic album. The sheer amount of composition in combination with the electronically produced score creates one of the most unique, and distinct electronic albums. Impressive though, is how Tritonal has never unveiled this sound before. It is new, and creative; an incredible unveiling for a new EDM sound. As the genre continues to progress and grow, “Painting With Dreams” is exactly what we need. The album is great, upbeat songs continuously keeping the energy high, and the audience engulfed. We’re already looking forwards to Tritonal’s next releases.

Release Date: September 9th, 2016
