With the announcement of their debut EP From the Night - out 16th February, Birmingham's Overpass have this week unveiled their latest single Alright. Commenting on the Rich Turvey-produced new single, vocalist Max Newy says: “‘Alright’ is about accepting things for how they are, while still not being pleased about the outcome. The lyrics detail a person who is in desperate need to win over his love interest who is with someone else, and I think the lyrics are quite on the nose and speak for themself.” He continues: “The song came about when Elliot had written the instrumental for the song and we all thought it was great, so I just layered some vocals on top and we all went from there. It definitely took us a while to get this song right, in fact there’s been plenty of different versions. We’ve had the song in our locker for a while now so we’re pleased to let the world hear it. I’d say my favourite part of the song is the final super chorus, all the pent up energy and tension just explodes, and it’s a fantastic moment live.” Take a listen to the euphoric number for yourselves below.
