Yelle - French Superstar

Probably the hottest French Export in a long time, Yelle is taking over the world with her fresh and addicting electropop sound.

Born on January 17th, 1983 in Saint-Brieuc as Julie Budet, she slid into the music scene right away due to her father's fame in the Côtes d'Armor area. She plays the piano, tried out acting, and played in a few bands. Her musical satisfaction and unity was found in producer GrandMarnier who helped her produce her first hit single "Je veux te voir", as well as her debut album "Pop-Up" in 2007.

She is the perfect example of how the technology of today can make you famous over night. Yelle caught the attention of countless myspace users when posting the early version of her soon-to-be-hit "Je veux the voir" called "Short Dick Cuizi". Teasing the Parisian hip-hop band TTC member brought her over 2000 plays in just two days and resulted in world wide fame.

With witty, sexy, scream-out-loud lyrics, inluding dedications to small breast ("85A"), lesbian temptations ("Les Femmes"), and dildos ("Mon Meilleur Ami"), she speaks every woman's mind and that's why I love her.

Her song "A Cause Des Garcons" was featured on the BBC Three series "Lily Allen and Friends", as well as on the video games "Need for Speed: Pro Speed", and "UEFA Euro 2008".

Give her a listen!
