Mark White Bass Solo – live in Paris (Bus Palladium)

As far as underrated Bass players go, Mark White is right up there.

I spent my teenage years fruitlessly trying to play along to Pocket Full Of Kryptonite, only realising years later that the man is a chicken finger picker and I never stood a chance.

There are not many bass players out there who can fly solo for five straight minutes and have the crowd eating out of the palm of their hand. Also worth a mention is that this entire Bass Solo was improvised off the cuff. I loved the part where he had to call out to Aaron Comess and Eric Schenkman to stop drinking and start playing.

Tip o’ the hat to you Mr White, but darn you for making my teenage bass playing years a nightmare.
