What a romantic mood piece this is as ‘Dollar Slice’ moves slowly and in the manner of a waltz that is headed by Iris James Garrison who knows how to take the fury out of the day with a few words to the wise. Reminded me of the Innocence Mission and that kind of feeling is enough to have us very excited about a song indeed. ‘Bloomsday’ have a country and folk demeanour, slide guitars and rock asides and topped off by Garrison who knows how to deliver romance but without any of the icky side effects. Effortless stuff, a swoonful few minutes even for tired old heads like mine. KH
