A fog horn of an opening, the kind that would wake the dead but that design is just to get us alerted to Max Poscente and his About You. And it seems it is of the sumptuous pop kind and boasting a vocal line that has the warmth and personality to soar amid all the orchestral flourishes. Echoes of Elbow, Paul McCartney and Ron Sexsmith and the neat hint of experimental rumblings so that the obvious commercial characteristics are sidestepped to give us a tune that is svelte, anthemic but cosy to the ear of us alternative seeking types.
