It’s that time of year again where thousands of Electronic Music Lovers head to the Netherlands for the annual Amsterdam Dance Even. 12 months on from It’s much anticipated return following a two year hiatus due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, the world’s biggest electronic music conference continues to provide some of the most insightful and inspiring programs over its four day schedule.

ADE comprises of its Conference program and Festival program. The conference program explores various topics and sub conferences, covering a wide array of topics such as sustainability, technological developments, programs for start-ups, mentoring programs for young talents and programs devoted to safety and self expression.

The Festival program showcases a full spectrum of electronic sub genres in Amsterdam’s finest nightlife spaces and is organised entirely by independent event organisations. Evolving every year to maintain its leading position, it firmly holds Amsterdam on the map in the creative Music industries worldwide.

In total ADE hosts more than 1000 events in nearly 200 locations across its multidisciplinary program; for five days and nights, the city of Amsterdam truly breathes electronic music.

Opening Keynote with A-Trak: Developing Artistry from Scratch (ADE Lab)

The ADE Lab kickstart’s with a conversation featuring none other than the maestro of beats himself—A-Trak with an insightful one-on-one interview with the master of turntablism, as he gives a unique peek into his remarkable career.

Becoming DMC World DJ Champion at the age of 15, and has ever since expanded his art, skill and knowledge. This Lab will dive into his journey as an artist, and how A-Trak’s personal career development has led him to work alongside some of the world’s greatest artists. DJ Mag’s How I Play Live series is returning for their second year at the ADE Lab grounds on ADE Wednesday. This edition explores the live set-up of Rotterdam-based duo Animistic Beliefs. The pair is known for creating hybrid global club music in their live show, and produce a sound heavily influenced by their Southeast-Asian heritage. The duo, formed by Linh Luu and Marvin Lalihatu, will give a detailed breakdown of their set-up with DJ Mag’s tech editor, Mick Wilson. The hour-long session will see Animistic Beliefs highlight key elements of their kit, and demonstrate sections of their stage performance live.
