Featured Video of the Week is the great, Tab Benoit, blazing blues guitarist and singer, performing, “Shelter Me” at Ruby’s Roadhouse in Mandeville, LA.
If you like blues and blues-rock, you’ll love Benoit. He has a massive following and has won the awards, B.B. King Entertainer of the Year and Best Contemporary Male Performer from the Blues Music Awards in Memphis. He also received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Traditional Blues Album for Brother to the Blues. Tab Benoit is Louisiana’s #1 blues-roots artist.
Medicine, is Tab Benoit’s latest album. Co-produced by Grammy-winner Anders Osborne and featuring drummer, Brady Blade, keyboardist Ivan Neville, bassist Corey Duplechin and Michael Doucet of BeauSoleil. Medicine is Benoit’s 7th solo release and features seven new originals co-written by Anders Osborne.
Benoit is also a very active conservation advocate. He is the driving force behind Voice of the Wetlands, an organization working to save Louisiana’s wetlands. In 2010 he received the Governor’s Award for conservationist of the Year from the Louisiana Wildlife Federation.
Benoit has also produced a new blues artist, Eric Johanson, whose debut album, Burn It Down, was just released at the end of October.
