The Porkers have been around forever and just won’t give up.
Forming in Newcastle in pre-internet times, they’ve been called a Ska Band, they’ve also a not really a ska band. Whilst on the U.S. leg of the Vans Warped Tour in 1999, Rolling Stone magazine said they “sounded like a cross between UB40 and The Blasters”. Whatever it is, they create a huge racket and have a worldwide cult following.
Calm Down Karen is just under two minutes of pure punk rock. The track portrays the outspoken, obtuse, members of modern society that feel the world would be a better place if they held the reins. God help us.
