Traumasaur EP review – Worst of a Bad Bunch

First impression is how beautifully Traumasaur‘s Worst of a Bad Bunch has been produced, mixed, and mastered. It’s solid and punchy.

The EP opens with Gravity, which lays the foundation for the EP. Well played, with great vocal harmonies and well thought out lyrics.

Bad Books continues in this vein with a more Australian feel. Touches of the Cosmic Psychos add to the flavour of the track without it losing its sense of Traumasaur.

Smack in the middle we get Institution with an eighties vibe with some soaring keyboards a nice addition the the chucky chords and lead work. Traumasaur reduce the track at the end, dramatically slowing to the final note.

Guzzoline is a fusion of the first three tracks throwing in some nice tempo changes and Worst of a Band Bunch closes, full circle, with Ball of String bringing us back to where we started with Gravity. This EP is a wonderful slab of pop punk with a lot of icing on the cake.

A favourite for 2023, Worst of a Bad Bunch sounds slick but still manages to sound drenched in the DIY ethos. I love it.
