What first drew you into music?

Originally my Love for Music came from my parents, I grew up in a house saturated in old rock music; Pink Floyd, Rush, Eagles etc. Later down the road I crossed paths with The Bloody Beetroots and their Roborama album, from that day i knew I wanted to make electronic music.

FUN FACT. Made By Tsuki was actually started as a project for my painting and visual arts around 5 years ago.

Listening to your music we can tell you love incorporating interesting new sounds and techniques within each track! What inspires you to experiment and evolve?

Most of my inspiration comes from outside of electronic music, places like art galleries, history books, Netflix series … wherever really. Once you take those initial ideas into the program, I will try push them as far as possible into a new space. For example, I love to take something super common and simple like a saw wave and see if I can make it sound like a person singing, in this process I never end up where I thought I would and sometimes I land somewhere super interesting.

It seems like you already found your signature sound Do you have any tips for upcoming musicians that can’t seem to find their own sound?

I think the best way to find a signature sound is not just to look at your influences but look at who influenced them. For me personally I looked at artists like Rezz and worked out who she may have been influenced by, from there you find artists like Zedds Dead and Boyz Noise, and further back you find out influenced them.

1. Go deep on your influences
2. Pull out only the ideas that you LOVE
3. Combine those ideas
4. Money

Your track “4U” is your best track in our opinion! From its artwork to the incredibly powerful sound we absolutely love it. Could you tell us more about the story behind this track? Also, what is your creative process like?

Thanks so much! 4U is one of my favourites too because of how fun it was to create. I’ve known Jay (JaySounds) for a super long time now and we’ve always bounced ideas back and forth. He’s one of the only people i trust to give brutal feedback when its necessary.

The way Jay and I worked together was spend a couple hours in the studio and then take what we had, and tear it apart by ourselves, we’d then meet a week or so later, combine our ideas and repeat the process. Do this enough times and you get a really strong mix of both artists styles.

What are your musical goals for the future?

My biggest musical goals are mostly focused on my live shows. I want to create a totally new experience for an audience by shifting where the DJ plays from in the room, by reimagining how lighting in the room works, and by changing the way the crowd interacts with the stage. We have plans for this coming in 2020 #HELLinaCELL

What do you have planned for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

Currently we are communicating with one of the biggest Art Galleries in Australia to shut down the gallery at night and throw an event. This will launch with an audio/visual experience that we don’t believe has been done before.

For those not in Australia I’m currently working on a new piece of work that you’ll be able to both dance to and cry to.

I’ve been feeling super creative lately and the music I’ve been working on has been my most inspired and enjoyable yet. It’s been a fun few months, working with different genres and sounds just for myself and I can’t for you to all hear it.
