What first drew you into music?

Back in high school, I had a lot of anger about my past. My friend Max Cline told me one day in the hallway I should express the feelings through rap Music. Max Cline is also a rapper and is in a Band called Ohmyx2 and his stage name is babyboycline. Also Niki Minaj really inspired me to make rap music, she is a strong female role model and we both came from rough upbringings.

You are one of the best up and coming musicians we have encountered on the internet! And your track “Summertime” is probably your best track yet! Could you tell us more about the story behind this track?

Summertime was a really fun track to produce with Adam Noel who records my music. Ironically it was actually inspired by my ex, when I asked him for a theme to rap about. Summertime is supposed to be a chill track about not having to worry about the stress of school, being in the moment of summer  and not worrying about anything.

Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?

When I record music, some tools I use are the keyboard, Auto Tune and my voice. I like to double record over the refrain at a higher pitch and lower, so I am using my own voice. I also add libs in and do sound effect using my mouth. My friend Adam Noel actually records my music, although I do make a lot of beats using garage band on my Ipad Pro. I will be cutting back on auto tune in the future.

Your signature sound is already very professional and amazing to listen to! How did you manage to achieve such a professional sound in such a short time? Can you tell us more about your musical background?

I am a trumpet player and have studied music since I was in elementary school. I have been playing the trumpet for 9 years and studied a lot of other kinds of music around the world. Honestly I think music production comes down to two things. 1. Confidence 2. The ability to hear notes and articulate pitches which is something I can do by ear due to my playing instruments since kindergarten.

All of your tracks are very melodic. Do you play any real-life instruments?

Yes, I play the trumpet- 9 years so far. I was in Big Swing Band for a while called the Jazz Ambassadors, and I played recorder throughout elementary school.

What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

I am releasing some new music soon, 3 tracks, using less auto tune and I am working on putting music mainstream through DesmoKids. Aside from music making I am working on petition for Climate action in NC that will be on state and local level, and hopefully make it to a national level. I have a lot of other songs but their on YouTube, one of them being No Hate which is about the amount of violence our country endures and struggles of a lot of Americans specifically focusing on the school shooting issue.
