What first drew you into music?

When I was younger I always had Music around me, my mum was a big lover of music when she was young she would spend hours in a record shop and always bought records/CDs from various genres, just like my grandad is as well a big lover of country music even to this day, when I was at high school was always introduced to bands and also other kinds of music but it wasn’t till I was about 15 or 16 when I really came more invested into music always listening and discovering new music, researching how that music was made.

When I saw Pendulum live back in 2010 that moment was when I wanted to do something with music and I was decent with computers at the time so I looked into how to make music electronically and try and fuse it with other genres I liked growing up but also how to perform that music out and that was when I discovered what DJing really was and the culture behind it and I never looked back since.

You are one of the best up and coming musicians we have encountered on the internet! And your track “Black Dog” is probably your best track yet! Could you tell us more about the story behind this track?

Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?

I make most of my tracks in my house on my laptop with Ableton Live and some M-Audio monitors, but when I used to live in Hull for University it would be a cross between my laptop making the tracks and if anything that needs recording sounds or mixing it would have been done in the duality studio which was the Uni’s own studio I always loved mixing in there especially.

I’d say my favorite VST plugin that I’ve used in most of my productions recently has been Serum but what I love about it is that not only can you make a sound from scratch but can also use the wavetable in there which what I use it a lot for to create certain sounds in my music and for effects I mainly use the stock plugins in Ableton like the EQ’s, Multiband Compressor I think they’re the best around a lot better than when I use to use either Logic or FL Studio when I first started out in my opinion.

Your signature sound is already very professional and amazing to listen to! How did you manage to achieve such a professional sound in such a short time? Can you tell us more about your musical background?

I think on the surface what people don’t really see is that it was ‘achieved’ through a lot of sacrifice and obsession I spent hours upon hours learning how to make music and produce and to make it in the best way I can, from learning how to arrange, to do basic sound design and I found the best way to learn for me was to reverse engineer from remakes and analyze how things work the way they work and even through tutorials which is definitely the beauty of the internet, when I was at University and even college as well I was surrounded by people who wanted to do the thing they loved whether be playing in a band and even the first 3 years when KaizzaB was active back in 2014 it was finding an identity my first few tracks.

My first EP it was basically making styles of music I liked and at that time were popular in dance music like Big Room and Future House, just kept planting these tracks out over the past 3 years to see what tracks people liked and what they didn’t like but I think over the past year or so it became more apparent what that identity is and I’ve been learning to make music since 2011 and even to this day I’m still learning but it’s still fun.

All of your tracks are very melodic. Do you play any real-life instruments?

I only know the basics of piano/keyboard, same with bass guitar when I had to step in for someone’s recording session had to play some chords for their song, when I was at college I learned the basics of music theory and even in my first year of University as well.

What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

My goal is to keep pushing my music out there, so looking into playing out more in doing DJ sets and in terms of upcoming projects I have some tracks that hopefully will be out before the year’s end or at the start of 2020 on a couple of labels with one being a brand new EP, 2020 will also be the fifth anniversary of my debut EP and will be doing something in celebration of that as well as looking into dropping a remix EP of my songs in the future.

Finally, I have around 15 to 16 tracks written and drafted for my second album which is a follow up from my first album where the character is explored more personally and get to know them a bit more so will be finishing all the tracks off and hopefully get a few more artists to collaborate on this project compared to the first album and then making the decision of what makes the album and what doesn’t, which will be a lot more pressure being as it’s a second album and hopefully that will either come out in 2020 but I feel more likely will be early 2021.
