Meet Joris Taylor

What first drew you into music?

Oh, this passion is came when I have 12 years about, I watched a live set of David Guetta at the time of “I Gotta Feeling” with the Black Eyed Peas and I saw him mixing in front of thousands of people, it was like a revelation and since I never let go, it’s all my life. But very young at the age of 8 years, I already listen some electronic Music like Benny Benassi, Pakito, Crazy Frog, Global Deejays, Eddy Watta, etc.. thanks to my big brother, who bought some CD’s.

You are one of the best up and coming musicians we have encountered on the internet! And your track “Drop’n Bang” is probably your best track yet! Could you tell us more about the story behind this track?

Just one night, I have an inspiration and the idea of music was made in one evening. Sometimes I put a lot more time following my ideas but this one was fast.

Going over your Soundcloud we can tell you love experimenting with new sounds. Can you tell us more about your studio setup and some of your favorite plugins/instruments?

All my traces are made in my room. I produced with Fruity Loops, like a lot of DJ/Producers knows. I started with this software at the beginning of my creations and I bought Rokit KRK speakers and an external sound card to be more precise  on my work.

The Kickstart and Camel Crusher are my favorite plug-in, I used it often.

Your signature sound is already very professional and amazing to listen to! How did you manage to achieve such a professional sound in such a short time? Can you tell us more about your musical background?

Simply the “Hard-Work”, I produce everyday so I learn all the days. Having ideas is one thing but having audio quality is something else, because your music must be playable in radios, clubs or festivals so mixing and mastering are very important, it’s something on which I work a lot.

All of your tracks are very melodic. Do you play any real-life instruments?

No nothing, I never taken piano lessons or anything else. My piano is on my sofwtare Fruity Loops called “Piano Roll”, I took this habit.

What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?

My goals in the future is to be better everyday in everything I do. I prepare some music and I would like grow my music in this industry. Yeah, I will participate to the ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event), this October normaly. All the best holland DJ/Producer back to Amsterdam each year playing on clubs of the city, It’s very fun!
