What first drew you into music and singing in particular?
I started playing the piano when I was 4 years old, so Music has always been a part of my life. It was not like my parents forced me into it. I saw my older sister playing the piano one day and I remember that I wanted to try it out as well and that’s how it all started. My two sisters, my brother and I grew up listening to all kinds of music thanks to our parents. Whether it’s Miles Davis, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Oasis, The Beatles, Mozart, Beethoven etc we always were surrounded by all types of music. As we grew older we discovered music on our own and we showed it to each other.
And singing. Well. I can’t really tell. I cannot listen to a song I like and not sing to it. But I never had the courage to sing in front of others let alone to my own music. I couldn’t stand my voice and I wanted others to sing to my stuff. I took singing classes a few years ago for one or two years, but just for fun, not because becoming a singer was a dream of mine or anything. Back then I wanted to become an actor and I thought being able to hit some notes would help me plus it would look good on my actor’s resume.
Your track “Lonely” features some very heartfelt lyrics and is very well produced, care to share more about the story behind this track?
I don’t mind even though it’s quite personal. But that’s what it’s about. Back in San Diego, I met this girl and we fell in love. She was actually the one who encouraged me to record my own songs. And she is also the reason why I made this song. It is about me being back home after the time we had, realizing it won’t work out. I was surrounded by my family and friends but yet I felt lonely because she wasn’t there. I think people can relate to that. ‚I’m so lonely / Damn so lonely‘. That was actually the very thought I once had when laying in bed being up late because I couldn’t sleep. I tried to confess my feelings to her with this song. We’re no longer in touch so I don’t know if she knows about the release. Maybe she does maybe she doesn’t ..
Your 2 latest tracks are collabs and they are both amazing! How is it like working with another artist vs working on your own?

Actually, they are no collabs … Julius Caesa is also me. He is my producer alter ego. But you couldn’t have known. The reason why I did this is that there is me, Julius Faran, the one with a face, with a public appearance, with the lyrics, thoughts, feelings etc. and then there is Julius Caesa the producer. The one sitting in the studio making beats. I separated these two parts because I thought the producer ego should be independent and be able to work with all kinds of artist while I cannot mix with everyone, because not every genre fits with me as an artist. It may sound a little strange and complicated but there is a concept behind it hahah. Working on my own has its pros and cons. Pros being that I am independent when it comes to ideas. I decide what a song will be about and how I can get there. Every decision is up to me. The way I sing, the way a beat goes, the things my lyrics are about. Cons being that every decision is up to me hahah. Sometimes I don’t know how to proceed or I can’t finish lyrics or something doesn’t work out the way I imagined it would and then I am by myself and have to find a solution on my own. And sometimes I don’t find a solution fast enough and I start with a new project.
About collabs. Actually I, as the producer, am working with many other artists, mainly Hip Hop artists. I cannot yet drop any names because it is all in the beginnings and making but … dunno … let’s see what the future brings :). I just started and so many things have already happened. I’m excited for what’s next. But I like working with others. It is always cool seeing how minds work so differently but then come together through music. Being in exchange, talking about ideas, working on melodies, baselines, drums, sounds what so ever is always challenging, fun, interesting and fulfilling. Either way. Working on my own or with others. It’s always special and unique and cool. And I can say there are definitely some artists I would love to work with.
Going over your Soundcloud we noticed you only started putting out music a months ago, However, your music sounds very professional! Can you tell us more about when you first started creating music?
Once again thank you. Like I said I started with the piano when I was four years old. But it was more just learning how to play the instrument than being creative. Later I had trumpet lessons and I taught myself how to play the drums and bass. That’s when I started creating my own stuff. But on a very lowkey. I was part of a band for 2 or 3 months hahah as the „singer“ and bass player. It was more like chilling, jamming and smoking disgusting hand-rolled cigarettes. That must have been four or five years ago. I „composed“ my very first piano piece when I was about 11. But I have forgotten how it went. 2015 I was up late, listening to some songs on SoundCloud and I stumbled upon this track by Jaden Smith ‚Offering‘. Jaden uploaded this song on his sister’s SoundCloud. I liked the style of the beat and the way he flowed. I came up with some verses and I wanted to record it right on the spot. You have to know I am a very impatient person. But I had no beat I could record to and I did not want to use a beat I had not any copyrights for. So I hit up my brother in law, because he already produced beats in his free time. But since it was late in the night and he was asleep and as I said I am impatient, I didn’t want to wait for him to produce a beat for me I could rap to so I thought why not make a beat by myself how hard could it be. Well, little did I know hahah. But that’s why and how I made my first beat. Back then I used GarageBand. The next days and nights I made more beats. I had a lot of fun and realized that’s something I really like, enjoy and that this is something I could imagine doing forever. I never recorded the lyrics I wrote though hahah. I tried recording it but I had neither a good microphone nor a real flow nor did I like hearing my voice.
What are your musical goals for the future?
Being able to live from my music. Being able to make a beautiful and untroubled life for my family possible. Being able to help those in need. Being successful with what I love.
What are your goals for the coming months? Any upcoming projects we can get excited about?
There is a huge project in the making. I am working on my very first album. ‚Lonely‘ and ‚K An Interlude‘ are both on the album. It’s built like a story. The story about how I met the girl, how we started going out, how we fell in love and then apart and about what is left. It’s very personal, but I want to be authentic with the album, which is why I don’t make stuff up. The title of the album will be either ‚Fading In Love‘ or ‚Fading In Love – A True Love Story‘ I haven’t decided yet hahah. I hope to finish it within the next two months so I can release it before Christmas or around New Year. It’s gonna be 100% self-made. And when that is done I’ll start taking care of giving concerts and getting a team around me.
Oh, and I have to think about my studies and I need to focus on university … well, at least a bit hahah.
