Ensemble has incredible, passionate and charming sound. Drive, expression, turbulence, wild energy and touching melodies are blended together. Musicians are great jazz masters – they have a huge experience of improvising and collaboration with other famous jazz masters. This album is balancing between open, turbulent and free improvisations, avant-garde jazz and the intonations of some styles of Contemporary Academical Music. There dozens of different moods, characters and expressions, who are used in this album. All compositions are based on free and polyphonic facture, open form and creative, impressive and marvelous improvisations. Musicians are diving through absolutely uncompairable styles and its elements – they fuse together turbulent and spontaneous avant-garde jazz, aggressive bebop, moving and rapid post bop, calm and relaxing cool jazz, soft and modern contemporary jazz, contemporary academical music, vocals, recitals and other spoken elements. This artsy synthesis is made naturally – the music is filled with marvelous and energetic solos, wild and terrific bursts of energy and innovative, touching and turbulent collective improvisations. The instrumentation is gorgeous and innovative – especially huge spectre of traditional playing techniques is connected with experimental ways of playing, as well as special effects, electronics and weird timbres. That forms multi-colorful, multi-layed and polyphonic musical pattern, who is based on synthesis of contemporary academical music and experimental jazz. The melodic section is solid and gorgeous. It has remarkable melodies, impressive special effects, dizzy passages and bordering dynamics. Melodic line always is the most important element of all musical pattern. It creates the basic of the album, recovers its character, sound and the main abilities of improviser. Here, in this album, all compositions are based on free structure, polyphony and open form. Piano, flute and sax improvisations by Tim Haldeman are dynamic and moving. Musician gently and virtuosically twists between passionate and moving piano solos, soft, relaxing and calm flute with gentle and gorgeous solos, vibrant and electric saxophone’s blow outs, bright and turbulent energy’s explosions, terrific improvisations, dizzy passages, remarkable melodies and driving excerpts. All kinds of musical language gently fit together – it’s also combined together with other instruemtns. The improvisations by Tim Haldeman bring passion, brightness and vitality to the compositions. Dan Bennett’s saxophone is dynamic and passionate – musicians gently plays with contrasts and eclectic connections. Slow, sad, lyrical or gentle episodes he straightly combines together with bright, moving and remarkable solos, aggressive melodies, complicated rhythms and vivacious pieces. His solos also have many effective and gorgeous episodes – it’s marvelous blow outs and impressive bursts of energy. Trumpet by Justin Walter is bright, loud and powerful. Sometimes it’s gentle, light and rapid, sometimes – rigorous, strict or passionate and warm, but never – boring. Musician varies between dozens of different playing techniques, who are marvelously combined together. The music has charming solos, roaring and vibrant blow outs, suggestive culminations and dizzy passages. The improvisations are especially colorful, bright and gorgeous. Cello (Jordan Schug), bass (Ben Willis) and vocal and words (John Goode) contain the main background and colorfully illustrate the mjusical pattern. Subtle, deep and solid bass line, moving, touching and trembling cello solos, silent and abstract episodes gently fit together with recitals, spoken elements or vocal. It bring different sound, which is more subtle, calm and relaxing than roaring and terrific solos of reeds or aggressive piano. Jonathan Taylor is keeping firm, solid and dynamic drums line, who is as much independent and gorgeous, as melodic section and background. Rhythmic section is synthesized from rapid solos, furious and wild drum rolls, powerful fanfars, subtle episodes, free improvisations, terrific and turbulent culminations or simply beautiful and light excerpts. The music of this album is created spontaneously and with passion – it has remarkable and innovative sound.
