ApologetiX had quite a surprise for their metalheads this month. They Released "Treading On Poisonous Scorpions, Vol. 2," which features parodies of Poison and the Scorpions. In addition, they released "Don't Tell Me We're Lucky / No Exclusions," which are parodies of Night Ranger and Alice In Chains. The band is hinting at new shirts and new pins for their 25th anniversary. Speaking of which, they announced that 25 states will be represented at their 25th anniversary show. They also opened up the opportunity for fans to be part of the 25th anniversary DVD! They finished the month by asking for financial help.
ApologetiX weren't the only bands with new singles. Newsboys released a surprise single featuring Peter Furler (!!!) covering Cody Carnes' "The Cross Has The Final Word." Brandon Heath released a new single called "Whole Heart." Matthew West's new single is entitled "Broken Things."
In May, Mandisa released her fifth album, "Out Of The Dark." You can read my review of the album on my website. The Letter Black is back with "Pain." Abigail Duhon finally released her self-titled EP. And John Reuben is back with a new album and it is controversial for its use of language.
The Billboard Awards were hosted a bit ago and Lauren Daigle won two! She won "Top Christian Album" and "Top Christian Artist." Hillary Scott & The Scott Family won "Top Christian Song." (Kirk Franklin won "Top Gospel Artist.")
Did any of you celebrate National Day Of Prayer? Well, Steven Curtis Chapman did, and he got to perform in the Rose Garden at the White House! And Joel from for KING & COUNTRY became an American citizen!
Lecrae is counting his "Blessings" as the song hit two charts (rap & R&B, if I saw correctly) in the top 10!
