I Shall Review - ApologetiX Classics: Heavy

Tags: love song rock
If you did not know, I Love rock music. I play my rockers a lot. I do need a little breather at times, but I love me a little rock.
So even if you didn’t know that, I’m sure you can easily guess that I’m excited to review ApologetiX’s HEAVY compilation album.

This album has a variety of different rock styles and parodies a wide variety of rock artists. We see Ozzy and AC/DC but swaps over to U2 and Metallica. Awesome variety!

“Downer Of A Sister” is one of my all time favorite ApologetiX songs. (It has a total of 95 plays in my iTunes. Lacey Sturm’s “Impossible” is my most played song and it edges at 98. I’d have so much fun just doing a post on how many plays some songs have in my iTunes!) I remember hearing it for the first time and not liking it too much. But I remember that I put the song on one day and love it so much. It had such a cliffhanger ending that I nearly yelled “Nooooo!!!” out loud! (I did grip my table in shock and disbelief.)

Of course, there is the classic rocker “Enter Samson.” I love just pulling that one up and just lovin’ it! (How many ApX fans out there actually don’t like “Enter Samson? Just curious.) Okay, I had to pull it up now, so I’m jammin’ to it right now!

One of my favorite songs lyrically would be “Life Restored.” Amazing song.

Man, so many awesome songs I love. I’ve spun “Swimmer,” “Jericho,” and “Santa Claus” countless times. “Animals I Have Begun” would be hilarious if I ever played that for my Valentine. And as I said in the previous review, “Smooth Grandmama” is loads of fun. (Yes, for those who wanted me to review Country in February, Heavy does have more romantic, a.k.a. Adam & Eve, songs than Country.)

Oh, “Singled You Out” still creeps me out! Never let the devil deceive.

There are some songs I don’t enjoy, but I’m surprised looking at this list how many songs I just love. I didn’t know there were so many I love! (So I had to spin “Miss Martha.Next would probably be “Psum 14.”)

Wow, I just love this. Thanks, ApologetiX!

This album has a variety, but I feel it focuses a little more on heavy modern rock than heavy metal (which is fine). Those who love rock (and humor) will wanna give this a try!

My favorite tracks:
Downer Of A Sister
Life Restored
Enter Samson
Swimmer
Jericho
Animals I Have Begun
Come Out And Pray
