Tottenham five-piece Haus (pronounced ‘house’) have released their latest single 'Shameless' through Atlas Artists which is produced by Everything Everythings Alex Robertshaw and mixed by Duncan Mills (Peace, The Vaccines, Erol Alkan). 'Shameless' explores themes of anxiety and depression, subjects frontman Ashley Mulimba is all too familiar with. He explains, "I wrote this song whilst I was going through a hard time with anxiety. It affected my sleep, my social skills and my relationships. I've always felt a strange pressure due to being one of the only black kids that played music, wore skinnies and skated in my area. For as long as I can remember I've always been told to "dress/act more black" or that I listened to the wrong music - in some weird way I liked it, and the rebellion felt empowering, but during this period I felt vulnerable on stage rather than Powerful. I'd place myself in other people minds rather than concentrate on my performance".
'Shameless' pushes the envelope musically with HAUS's genre-bending style featuring electro-rock flourishes, but in this case, it's the reverberated guitar lines and Ashley's vocals which really stand out in their rawness. Along with the lyrics which are very moving, "silent storm inside of your head" and "shamelessly hard to bear". The new single follows on from HAUS's 2017 EP 'SWYSEP' as well as performances at Reading and Leeds Festivals (Radio 1 Dance stage), Imagine Festival, Switzerland, INmusic, Croatia, and Grape Festival, Slovakia.
