The King's Parade Mark Their Emphatic Return With 'Night Calls'

'Night Calls' is the latest single from The King's Parade and it rounded off a year of compelling music releases from 'Haze' to 'Mother Tongue' and their EP 'Haze'; softly brooding songs with a rousing chorus. 'Night Calls' begins gently then steadily unfurls into a liberated butterfly packed with gorgeous harmonies, chiming guitars, a low slung bassline and a light moodiness. Frontman Olly Corpe's distinctive bluesy rasping voice tells the tale of loneliness, pain and looking to the past,
"Hold me closer like you did before
Breathing through me until I feel your cold
Knocking at my door
Breathing fast in your soft lung
Worry hurts when you're still young
Did you ever hear all my night calls
Echoing out through the cold house
Did you ever hear all my night calls
Never in doubt of the last case, yeah"
The King's Parade says of the track, "'Night Calls' was written about being a kid and feeling empty without the people you love surrounding you and taking care of you. The song grew and I started to notice how much I could still relate to that even as an adult. It seems like those feelings you have when you’re young is so strong that you never let them go."

The King's Parade will be playing at The Courtyard, Hoxton London on February 8th.
