Espa has unveiled her new sound following one of the biggest collaborations of the year, featuring as the vocalist on UK producer Goldie’s ‘Inner City Life’ 2017 Burial Remix; one of the most coveted records of 2017. ‘Lover to a Liar’ is Espa’s long-awaited return to making music which more of a pop sound. Working with Grammy-nominated Perry, a songwriter having written with the likes of Adele, Gwen Stefani, and Christina Aguilera, will do that to your horizons.
Speaking on the new track, Espa says, “This song has been a release for many reasons. I
finally gave myself permission to write in a style that is fearless and boundless, it’s pop and its dramatic and that is me, which is as freeing as it is refreshing to finally say! My lyrical content always comes from personal experiences and in the case of ‘Lover To a Liar’, it took a while to pull the subject off the ‘too real to put into a song yet’ list… but music is the most powerful vehicle, and I’ve expressed exactly what has been buried for
years.”
