In 'Rapture' Over New Music Video From Malory

Malory releases the lead single 'Rapture' from her forthcoming debut EP 'Dystopia' and it is a unique blend of motifs and haunting harmonies.
She has teamed up with her sister and longtime collaborator Taylor Torr for the visuals which are artistic, dystopian and mind bending.
The Music video mirrors the double meaning of the track; intense joy and dark sadness. Taylor explains: “We wanted to play with light and shade, using hues of black, red but also white and blue. It meant we could incorporate themes of destruction and redemption in an abstract way.”
The catchy song is firmly rooted in the alternative/Indie-pop category which varies in tempo and incorporates tribal drums and folky elements. Produced by Danny George, the song is synth driven, buoyant and youthful with an array of sonic colours. However, the lyrics tell a darker story, “'Rapture' is a reflection on the death and rebirth of relationships. How the line between pure ecstasy, joy and deep pain & self-destruction is so fine," Malory says of 'rapture'.
Malory is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from Johannesburg now based in South London who since signing to Metropolis Music Publishing has formed a distinctive, sonically mature and compelling sound. She does studio sessions in Toronto, LA and London and has had placements including the Cannes Lions Grand Prix winning advertisement 'Project Literacy' as well as the main theme for the American Indie film ‘The Boy Downstairs’. As well as having much radio support, Malory has also supported George Ezra on tour and done live performances at BBC Introducing Hyde Park and BBC 6 Music Chris Hawkins’ showcase event. She has also featured as ‘Uncharted Territory’ artist of the week by Richard Madeley on BBC Radio 2.
