Malaysia Vasudevan passed away a few hours back leaving several hundreds of evergreen songs that he effortlessly sang in his own inimitable style. His flair of singing "disco" to "folk" genre songs is so natural to him. You cannot talk about Malaysia Vasudevan without his landmark songs like "Aattukutti Muttaiyittu", "Poongaatru Thirumbuma", "Aagaya Gangai", "Poove Ilaya Poove", "Kodai Kaala Kaatre", "Aasai Nooru Vagai" and much more.
His brilliance in voice modulation as Chidambaram Jeyaraman in the song "Aanandha Then Kaatru" from the movie "Manipoor Mamiyaar" is still so refreshing. He almost perfected the "teaser" type of folk songs to have got stereotyped for the same that his other gems were less spoken. Some of the teaser-type-jolly-songs that I like are - Sutti Sutti Un Vaala (Chinna Koundar), Aei Kuruvi (Muthal Mariyathai), Per Vechaalum Veikkama (Michael Madana Kama Rajan), Seevi Sinukeduthu (Vetri Vizha) and much more..
