Straffa Boy who is known for creating Music for his city is already stepping into 2024 strong. In the first quarter of the year, he has already released 3 singles, recorded an On The Radar freestyle and was listed as one of the most underrated artists in the DMV by Classroom Barz. In addition to that, he is finishing up his highly anticipated EP.

“This year has been great and I had a very strong first quarter,” said Straffa. “There’s so much more to come though that I am very excited about.” 

Prior to his solo rap career, Straffa led a popular Gogo Band in DC where they performed at several notable places. He has rapidly risen to prominence as a key figure in DC’s music scene. His first single was played on WKYS where he was co-signed by DJ Big John. Soon after, he was co-signed by DJ Akademiks on WPGC 95.5FM. His unique style, distinctive flow and relatable lyrics have captured the attention of heavy hitters in the industry. He currently has a distribution deal with Equity and is managed by one of the top business owners in the DMV, Rob Willie.

“It feels good to have the support of my city,” he said. “So many artists talk about how their city doesn’t support them so knowing that I have the support of the DMV makes me feel like I will get supported nationally.”

Straffa credits his success to his life experiences because it’s the inspiration behind his music. The DMV native told us that he has lost too many soldiers so even when this industry gets hard, he has to stay motivated as his due diligence to them. Whether he enjoyed himself at a party or whether he’s mourning someone close to him, his fans will hear it in his music. He explained that it is important for him to be as authentic as possible when creating music so that he can help other people going through similar situations.

“When you hear my music, I want you to hear the DMV. This is what DC feels like and sounds like,” said the ‘Know Nuffin,’ artist.
