It was her mom who discover her talent and love for singing at an early age. IVRYY’s mom said that she used to drive around just so that IVRYY could sing herself to sleep. Also, thanks to her mom, she got a shot to perform “The Greatest Love Of All” by Whitney Houston; which undoubtedly made her fall in love with music and performing.

It was her high school music teacher who realized that IVRYY has got nothing to do with the tech. It is on the other side of the mic that she should be in charge of. He pushed her to finally start recording her singing and though she hated it at first, once she got the hang of it, she never stopped rolling.

“Listening is part of singing” she said. Nowadays, she would go for hours upon hours to listen to music, to get in the vibe, to find the mood, and get into the zone. To let the music and the lyrics flow out of her naturally. That’s how her song came out of her, and that’s how remarkable she is as an R&B soul singer.
