Over the years, the Music industry has seen some extraordinary talent. Letoa is a popular Samoan rapper from New Zealand who has been dominating the rap scene with catchy tunes and his aesthetic rap style. Letoa’s music has been streamed by millions of people on Spotify, YouTube, and other streaming platforms throughout his career. Some of his most streamed records include “Slatnoslime”, “ICE COLD”, “E-girl”, and “guap”, with his most recent song, “So Fresh So Clean”, quickly gaining popularity.

Letoa has managed to push the aesthetic rap genre to new heights with the help of New Zealand and his ever-growing fan base. Despite the fact that he has only been releasing music for almost three years, Letoa created an immediate buzz with fans, with one of his first releases, “Slatnoslime”, going viral. Mainstream and independent artists alike understand that amassing such a large number of supporters is not an easy feat for a new artist, especially when the world experienced a pandemic in 2020 that altered many people’s lives and daily routines. However, after breaking into the rap scene, Letoa proved to be more than capable, producing hit after hit.

But, surprisingly, Letoa was astounded by his performance as a rising artist. Letoa recently stated in one of his most recent interviews, “I never thought when I first put out my music, that I would even hit 100 plays.  So to get well over a million with “Slatnoslime” so quickly and then continuing to get those sort crazy numbers was just so shocking to me. I never thought in a million years we would so quickly be having that many people hearing our music.” 

Though he was surprised by his own success, his commitment to releasing over 20 songs since 2019 and assembling the right team to help market his productions propelled him to the top of the New Zealand talent list.

Letoa’s continued success has led him to believe that his music has a brighter future. He was able to make several connections in the industry as a result of the attention he received for his songs, and he also developed a more positive outlook on what he could achieve as a musician.

Letoa’s success as an independent artist can inspire those who are following in his footsteps in the music industry.

According to Letoa, “Independence is a hard road but it definitely teaches you all the certain skills that go into releasing a song on the business side of things. I personally think the problem for many artists that are independent, is the lack of knowledge and with not knowing what goes on behind the scenes.” 

Though he has received interest from major record labels, Letoa believes that signing with a label would have to make sense for his career. For the time being, he is constantly honing his craft and brainstorming new ways to engage his devoted fan base.

Letoa, who has graduated from high school, is focused on consistently delivering top notch productions in 2022. He is a full-time musician who has a lot of potential in the rap game.
