McLaren F1 car worth millions crashes near Queenstown

A Mclaren F1 supercar worth an estimated $20 million crashed into a ditch near Queenstown this afternoon.
Police were alerted about 12.15pm to the incident on the Glenorchy-Queenstown Rd, where the car had spun off the road, a spokeswoman said.
Police said a man sustained minor injuries, while Tour organisers said no-one was injured.
No other vehicles were involved.

The car is a 1994 McLaren F1 capable of almost 400km/h and said to be worth about $20 million.
The crash happened on the last leg of the inaugural McLaren New Zealand Road Tour, a convoy of 31 McLarens from around the world travelling from Auckland to Queenstown this week.
The tour, which pays tribute to the brand's Kiwi founder Bruce McLaren, is due to end today.
Queenstown Volunteer Fire Brigade chief Doug McKay said a fire crew was on their way to another crash when they came across the supercar in a ditch.
The driver was no-longer with the vehicle and police were in attendance.
McLaren Automotive confirmed in a statement there was a minor traffic incident involving one of its touring cars.
"There were no injuries sustained by either the driver or single passenger. The vehicle involved has sustained some minor damage and for safety reasons will not be driven further in the touring event.
"At all times, the Epic New Zealand Road Tour has been conducted in a safe manner on New Zealand roads, in full cooperation with authorities."
A resident on nearby Bayswater Lane said he saw about five McLarens parked up at Wilson Bay while emergency services drove past to attend to the crash some distance away.
The fleet of 32 supercars that make up the tour's convoy are collectively worth about $45 million.
Yesterday, the cars boosted around Queenstown's Highlands Motorsport Park track at speeds of more than 250km/h.
On Thursday, former All Black captain Richie McCaw treated McLaren supercar fans to a guided chopper flight to Minaret Station.
After arriving in Wanaka, participants boarded a fleet of choppers which McCaw led to the station. Once they touched down the guests tucked into a five-star meal before heading back to The Edgewater hotel.
