Following your Porsche’s Recommended Maintenance Schedule is key to keeping your vehicle running smoothly for many years to come. Performing routine maintenance, at the mile markers suggested, will protect your Porsche from long term damage and issues that could have been prevented if caught early and fixed quickly.

While every Porsche is different, here is the general idea of what items should be inspected regularly, and a basic time frame for inspection.

Every 500 to 2,000 Miles

• Change engine oil and filter.
• Visually inspect engine for leaks.
• Check condition and connection of coolant hoses.
• Visually inspect radiator for external fouling.
• Check level and coolant (antifreeze) content.
• Check hose connections to crankcase ventilation.
• Intake air: Check hoses, lines, and connections.
• Check play of brake pedal.
• Visually inspection brake hoses and lines for leaks, damage, or corrosion.
• Check brake fluid level
• Check play of clutch.
• For manual transmissions, visually inspect for leaks, and check the oil level.
• For automation transmissions, check fluid levels.
• Visually inspect the exhaust system for leaks and damage. Check screw connections as well.
• Check condition and pressure of tires.

During road or dynamometer test, check:

• Brake pedal.
• Parking brake.
• Brake power assist unit.
• Clutch.
• Automatic speed control.
• Steering.
• Heating.
• Air conditioner.
• Instruments.
• Kick down.
• Engine for leaks visually.

Every 1800 to 3000 Miles

• Wheel alignment service.

Every 15,000 Miles

• Repeat all items from 500 to 2,000 mile maintenance, including road or dynamometer test.
• Visually inspect brake pads and discs for wear.
• Check clutch plate for wear.
• Visually inspect hydraulic clutch actuator for leaks.
• Steering Gear: Visually inspect bellows for damage, and check screw connections.
• Check play, tightness, and dust caps of tie rod links.
• Visually inspect power assisted steering for leaks, and check fluid levels.
• Ball joints: visually inspect dust caps.
• Check wishbone screw connections.
• Check play of front and rear wheel bearings.
• Lubricate clutch release lever and secondary spring.
• Drive shafts: visually inspect sleeves for leaks and damage.
• Check operation and lubricate door arrester.
• Lubricate door hinges.
• Check doors, engine hood locks and safety hooks for tightness and function.
• Check seals for doors, hood, and roof. Remove abraded rubber, and apply suitable agent to seals.
• Check vehicle lighting operation.
• Check setting of headlights and adjust if necessary.
• Check horn operation.
• Lubricate retractable headlight rods.
• Check throttle actuator for smooth running.
• Check function, fluid level, and nozzle setting of windshield washer system.
• Check operation, fluid level, and nozzle setting of headlight washer.
• Check battery fluid level.
• Check operation of all electrical control equipment and optional extras.
• Check heater, ventilation, and air condition blower operation.

Every 30,000 Miles

• Change engine oil and filter.
• Check tension and condition of timing drive belts.
• Check tension and condition of V-Belt and Poly-Rib Belt.
• Replace spark plugs every two years.
• Replace air filter.
• Automation transmission: Change ATF and clean ATF strainer.

Every 60,000 Miles

• Manual transmission: change oil.
• Automation transmission: Change oil in differential.
