The Mercedes Benz company will be introducing the 6th generation of cars, called the SL550. The chief engineer for Mercedes Juergen Weissinger said that this is the biggest step they’ve taken from one generation to another. They have not yet released the whole concept, but here are some things I know.

The most of the body shell of the SL550 is going to be made from aluminum, except the windshield frame, which will be made from high-strength steel. It is a Benz first.

The first impression is very good. The car agility is up, it has a very powerful V8 engine. The V8 twin-turbocharger will provide 429 hp. It will also increase the twist from 391 pound-feet, to an amazing 516. The new V8 burns 22% less fuel, which makes it an economical car, keeping in mind how expensive the petrol is.

It will be a 7 speed automatic transmission, which with the adds on gives out a great sports car.

It has a higher corner precision, thanks to the lighter front end, and more direct steering. As far as the features are concerned, what else can we expect from Mercedes, but the best. One of the features that the SL will have is a so called Magic Sky Control. You can get one of the three versions for the SL folding hardtop: a painted version, a glass-roofed version, or the “vario-roof” with Magic Sky Control. You basically push the button and the glass becomes transparent or darker.

I can only imagine what the rest will look like, when they release it.
