Top 10 most famous English Formula 1 drivers

Formula One is the most popular Race in the whole world. MIlions of fans travel to see their favourite drivers and to share their victory. Today we are going to introduce to you the top 10 most famous English drivers of all time.

1. James (“JIm”) Clarke Jr. was a British formula one Racing Driver, some say the best. He was born on March 4 1936 in Scotland. He had won two world Championships in 1963 and in 1965.  He was a great driver who competed in touring cars, sports cars and the Indianapolis 500, wich he won in 1965. He died in a formula two accident on the 7th of Aprila 1968. By then he had 25 wins and 2 world championships.

2.Sir John Young aka. Jackie Stewart is a Scottish racing driver. He was born on June 11th 1939. He was nicknamed the ” Flying Scot”. He competed in Formula one races between 1965 and 1973. He won 3 World Drivers Championships.In 2009 he was ranked 5th of the 50 best formula one drivers. In his career he has 27 wins and 3 world Championships.

3, Norman Graham Hilla known as the man of many talents,is a British racing driver who was born on February 15th 1929. Many described him as a driver ahead of his time. He was the only driver to win the Triple Crown of Motorsport- 24 Hours of Le Mans, Indianapolis 500 and Formula One World Championship. He died in a plane accident on November 29th 1975.

4, Sir Stirling Craufurd Mossis a former racing driver from England. Born on 17 Septembre 1929. His success in a variety of categories placed him among the world’s elite—he is often called “the greatest driver never to win the World Championship” He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers. He is now 83 years old and he lives in West Kensington, London. In his career he had 16 wins.

5. Nigel Ernest James Mansell was born on August 8 1953. Worchestershire England. He was a British racing driver who won the Formula One World Championship in 1992 and the CART Indy Car World Series in 1993. His career in Formula One spanned 15 seasons, with his final two full seasons of top-level racing being spent in the CART series. Mansell remains the most successful British Formula One driver of all time in terms of race wins with 31 victories, and is fourth overall on the Formula One race winners list behind Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. He was rated in the top 10 Formula One drivers of all time by longtime Formula One commentator Murray Walker. He had total 31 wins and 1 championship.

6. Lewis Carl Dawidson Hamilton was born on January 7 1985 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. His first race was in 2007 the Australian Grand Prix where he end up 3rd. He won his first Formula One Championship in 2008. He is now driving for the McLaren-Mercedes team, and he ranked 4th this year. For now he has 15 wins and one championship.

7. Jenson Alexander Lyons Button was born on January 19 1980.in Frome, Somersat. Button began karting at the age of eight and achieved early success, before progressing to car racing in the British Formula Ford Championship and the British Formula Three Championship.At the beginign of his career he was signed to Williams F1 for the 2000 season. He won his first Championship in 2009. His first race was the Australian Grand Prix in 2000, and his first win was at the 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix. He is curently rated 5th.

8, David Marshall Coulthard waas born on March 27 1971 in Twynholm, Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland. In 1994 he debuted in Formula One and his career lasted for 15 seasons. He was twice the winner in Monaco.He helped establish the Red Bull team. In his career he has 13 wins.

9, Damon Graham Devereux Hill was born on September 17 1960. His is the son of the late Formula one star Graham Hill. He is a retired British car racer, who in his career has 22 wins and 1 championship. His first race was the 1992 Spanis Grand Prix and his first win was the 1993 Hungarian Grand Prix.

10.James Simon Wallis Hunt was born on 24 of August 1947.His often action packed exploits on track earned him the nickname “Hunt the Shunt.” His first race was the 1973 Monaco Grand Prix and first win at the !975 Dutch Grand Prix. In his career he has 93 races, from wich he has 10 wins and one Championship in 1976. Hunt died in 1993 at the age of 45, of a heart attack at his home in Wimbledon.
