The Club was formed in 1964, when the Rover Company divided its Owners Club into autonomous regional clubs. The club draws its membership mainly from North Derbyshire, South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and even Lincolnshire and run cross country trials and competitive safari events primarily for Land Rover vehicles.

[See image gallery at blog.paddockspares.com] They are a member of the Association of Land Rover Clubs (ALRC) and is affiliated to the Motorsport UK.

Club Events Include:

  • Trials are either Cross Country Vehicle Trials (CCV), where vehicle are specially prepared with roll cages etc and Road Taxed Vehicle Trials (RTV)
  • Novice trials – less experienced drivers can compete in Novice Trials, where drivers are allowed to use CCV prepared vehicles in a RTV trial.
  • Tyro Trials (Tyro = “Try Your Rover Out”). Tyro trials are run for the less experience, novice and younger drivers (13+). These are held on most Saturdays using the first six sections of an RTV trial.
  • Young Driver Development – drivers aged 15+ may progress from Tyro to RTV to CCV. A record card is issued to show satisfactory completion of four Tyros, then four RTV trials.
  • Competitive Safari
  • Social Meet (on the first Tuesday of the Month)
  • Annual Presentation Dinner & Dance
