A Tesla Roadster Relives Inside This Classic Porsche 911 Targa

To most petrol-heads, the very thought of an electric Porsche 911 seems completely wrong, like an abomination. But it may not be bad as it sounds, or doesn’t sound at all. This beautiful example of a 1979 Porsche restored and converted by Electric Classic Cars.

Electric Classic cars, a company head by Richard Morgan. They specialise in the conversion of classics, builds, and even complete restorations. This Porsche is a restored 1979 Porsche 911 Targa that features two 100 kW electric end on end motors that are powered by a 54kWh battery from a Tesla Roadster, with a range of up to 200 miles and with acceleration is even better than the original.

Externally, Richard Morgan’s Porsche looks just like another example of a beautifully restored 911 Targa, with an exquisite glowing paint job and restored the interior. But taking a closer look at it, you can find the modern elements such as the LED headlights and sidelights on the bumper. The batteries stored under the bonnet, and it may come as a surprise to Porsche owners, it comes with boot space where the engine used to be. This electric car does come with a gearbox. The powertrain can be programmed to the customer’s tastes to deliver different characteristics and is offered with ECO and Power modes.
