1969 Ford Mustang Fastback Is A Tribute To Steve McQueen’s “Bullitt Mustang”

Even after almost 50-years, the 10-minute car chase from the movie Bullitt is still known as the most epic movie car-chase scenes of all time. It was was epic for many reasons; the high-speed scenes shot on the hills and by-ways of San Francisco, Steve McQueen, and most importantly the 1968 Ford Mustang fastback.

This here is a Bullitt Mustang replica that was recently sold at Mecum Auction that is painted in the typical Highland Green colour of the Bullitt Mustang while also being equipped with the iconic American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. To complete the movie Mustang look, the front grill is completely blacked out and devoid of any emblems. Also, just like Steve McQueen’s car Bullitt Mustang, the replica is powered by the S-code 390 (390 cubic inch V8 engine used in the 1967, 68 and 69 Mustang) and a 4-speed gearbox.

The Bullitt Mustang replica from Mecum is also equipped with a Holley 4-barrel carburettor, open-element air cleaner, aluminium radiator, heavy duty suspension, front disc brakes and black Deluxe interior with bucket seats.
