In a near repeat of Bahrain, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez took a second 1-2 finish in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as Verstappen continues his winning ways, securing his 100th podium in the process as Red Bull continue to dominate the 2024 Formula 1 season.

Ferrari’s Charles LeClerc started 2nd on the grid, but fall back early on to Perez and came home to finish 3rd ahead of McLaren’s Oscar Piastri. Fernando Alonso would go on to finish 5th.

Pierre Gasly was the first retirement of 2024, losing his gearbox on the opening lap as his luck in the Alpine continues to worsen. Teammate Esteban Ocon would finish 13th overall.

Lance Stroll caused the only yellow flag period of the race when he clipped the wall on lap 7, sending his Aston Martin directly into the barriers in turn 23. During the safety car period, Lando Norris assumed the lead from Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, but the superior pace of the Red Bell was no match for the McLaren and Verstappen retook the lead within a few laps and never looked back.

Oliver Bearman, making his rookie debut in Formula 1 in place of the sick Carlos Sainz, finished 7th after a start from 11th on the grid, becoming the youngest ever British driver to score points in Formula on their debut.
