Silverstone was host at the weekend to the new Zeo Prototype Series. The BRSCC along with Excool have launched the brand-new series of which includes 6 classes with no restrictions for the faster classes. The ZEO Prototype Series is the brain child of experienced prototype driver and Excool CEO Duncan Williams. The Series is open to all sports prototypes and sports racing cars, be it open top or closed top.

The race format consists of a 20-minute qualifying session of which is then followed by two 20-minute races. The series will run over three weekends with eight races in total.

The first venue saw the series using the Silverstone National Circuit. The series will then move to the Kent circuit, Brands Hatch on August 8th with the last two races being held at Donnington Park on the 26th September.

Race one on Sunday 20th June saw a 15-car field take to the track with the class A lead cars of #16 Matt Manderson in the Radical SR8 and #11 Duncan Williams in a Norm LMP3. Both cars held the front two spots for the whole of the race with only a 0.2 second gap separating them at the end of the race. Third spot went to the class B car of Mike Jenvey in his Jenvey-Gunn TS6. Fastest lap went to Matt Manderson with an impressive lap time of 57.694
