Back In Black: The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph

Seamlessly working double duty as both a dress and sports watch, the sleek and sophisticated A. Lange & Söhne 1815 chronograph is back in black!

With its classic 39.5mm sized dial that is only 11mm in height (not bad for a chronograph), this luxury timepiece features a 18k white gold case and black dial that IMHO looks so much more balanced than the Datograph which comes off as a bit busy due to the added date complication.

This A. Lange & Söhne 1815 chronograph however is not just a black version of the standard 1815, it includes the pulsation dial used on the 1815 boutique edition issued in 2015 and is the first time A. Lange & Söhne has combined a black pulsation dial with a white gold case. It is also noteworthy that compared to the first generation 1815, the power reserve is now 60 hours instead of 36.

Although the USD 50,000 price tag is no small chunk of change, it is a good value when you consider the level of quality you are getting and the price of the A. Lange & Söhne Datograph which is considerably more.
