While you may select your summer Polo Shirt based on the hem style or type and quality of fabric used, there is one more factor that is worth mentioning that can enhance the overall look of the garment which is sadly overlooked by many men, the Collar.
It’s true that when most of us think of polo shirts, what immediately comes to mind is the soft ribbed collar and while there isn’t anything inherently wrong with this style (especially when you button the shirt up completely for a neater appearance), it can look particularly sloppy when the edges of this collar type start to curl.
The simple alternative is the shirt collar style which is made from the same material as the rest of the polo and usually includes some kind of interlining that helps keep the collar looking the way it should. A definite advantage in a sea of unruly soft collars.
