PRP Hair Loss.

Platelet Rich Plasma: A simple treatment to prevent and treat Hair Loss.
What is PRP?
Platelets are small cells that circulate in your bloodstream.  Their sole job is to react to injuries to blood vessels.  When they come upon such damage, they break apart releasing a host of growth factors.   These growth factors do not only help to stop the bleeding, but they attract other cells to begin to repair the damage.

We can take advantage of these growth factors release by platelets for rejuvenation and renewal purposes.  After a standard in-office blood draw, the blood is spun down to isolate the platelets in the watery part of blood, the plasma.  We draw off this platelet rich plasma (PRP) into a syringe and can then inject it all over the body.

So how does PRP help hair loss?
Hair loss is due to the loss of hair follicles in the scalp.  The remaining hair follicles are still present and able to grow new hair. PRP is rich with your natural growth factors and other proteins that can stimulate hair growth and repair of cell damage.
How is the PRP placed in the scalp?
A topical anesthetic cream is placed on the scalp to provide numbness.  There are two main ways to introduce the PRP into the scalp.  Micropen microneedling uses very small needles to make small perforations in the skin.  This allows tiny pores to be made that allow the PRP to be placed on the surface and travel down towards the hair follicles.  The other method is to use small needles to perform a series of small injections in the scalp.  These two methods can be combined for best results.
How long before I see any results from PRP Hair Loss treatments?
Since we are using your own growth factors, it could take 1-2 months before you see any results.  The procedure should be repeated at the 2 month mark and then every 3-4 months as needed.
Is PRP safe?
Yes.  PRP is from your own blood and carries no risk of any contagious disease.  There is also no  risk of allergic reaction as PRP is safe and natural.
Can PRP be combined with other hair loss treatments.
Yes! PRP is ideal to use along with Neograft Hair Transplant.  The PRP can be mixed with the harvested grafts and injected into the transplant areas for better results.
