Does Kratom Have an Effect on Blood Sugar? YES!!! A positive effect!
Kratom has been used to treat diabetes in the folk medicine of Thailand for as long as written records there exist. They don't do this out of superstition, but because it works. Fortunately, we non-scientists don't need to wait for Big Pharma to create a new diabetes drug out of mitragyna speciosa (because it's NOT going to happen!).
In case you weren't aware of this, Big Pharma doesn't have a cash incentive to cure diabetes. There is far more money to be made by treating your symptoms with various drugs until you die. That's the sad truth and it's not against the law.
I don't waste my money giving donations to appeals to find a cure for Cancer or Diabetes or any other disease because nobody is really looking for a cure. Most of that money is spent on salaries and marketing expenses of the foundations that collect the money. I guarantee you that the pharmaceutical companies are not spending any money looking for a true cure, even though they could probably tell you how to cure many diseases right now, if they wanted to (but they don't).
In the case of Kratom and Diabetes, there is only one study published in the U.S. government's PubMed.gov, which shows that simple extracts of kratom help insulin to transport blood sugar into muscle cells. This is very useful knowledge that confirms -- as much as one small study can do by itself -- that kratom does what diabetics need done. Unfortunately, the study was never applied in medical practice and they surely didn't do any more experimentation to turn kratom into a diabetes drug.
Like I said, there is no money in curing diabetes. So, Big Pharma won't waste any effort or money to do something that won't make them boatloads of bucks. This shouldn't stop you or me from using kratom to help control blood sugar by getting it into our cells where it is needed for energy production.
