Nov 19, Life-Threatening Danger of Too Much Energy Drinks

Another Danger of Excessive Energy Drink Consumption:
A 28-year-old man in Morocco drank 4 cans of the energy drink "BURN" in preparation for a long drive, but wound up in the hospital instead!
Too much of most energy drinks, especially when consumed with alcohol, can cause hypokalemia, an extreme low level of the mineral potassium in the blood stream. Dancing and other sweat-producing physical activity can make this condition more likely.
The symptoms of hypokalemia are "thirst, sweating, and nausea". The high sugar levels in most energy drinks can also cause other problems for pre-diabetics and diabetics.
The only energy drink that I'm aware of that adds potassium to their formula (making a BIG difference in the effects, is the A.C.T. Energy Drink by Youngevity.
I still would not drink more than one serving, as recommended, every four hours or more.
